The St. Augustine Alligator Farm, St. Augustine

While Paulette and Sharon had pool time, Jerry and Chuck were off to the Alligator Farm. The Farm is built around a natural rookery and the birds have free flight in and out. The rookery has been home to the great snowy egret, great blue heron, wood stork and many other species for over sixty years. They are totally free to come and go and are not fed or cared for by the Farm. The birds prefer nesting here because the gators protect the eggs and young from other natural predators.

So many photo opportunities that it's a good thing we are not paying for film!
